Vision statement / Artistic goals: To preserve and foster German Choir singing and the German language

Voice type: ALL MALE SINGERS

Choir performs: Both accompanied & unaccompanied

Year Choir formed: 1860

No. of Singing Members - Currently: 47 Desired: 65-70

Musical Repertoire: Traditional German folks songs, classical music, sacred songs and for a variety of festive occasions

Musical Director: Ian Lowe

No. of years in current post: since 2012

Previous musical experience: Ian studied singing for 3 years at Salzburg and performing for 13 years at Karlruhe Opera in Germany; he teaches Singing at the Melbourne Music Conservatory, and Music at several Melbourne Private Schools; Ian is an active Singer for and President of both the Lieder and the Robert Stolz Society (Bass); Ian is also Choir Director of the Melbourne Singers and Judge for both "More Than Opera" and the Lieder Society Competition

Choir's past collaborations with other musical groups: Victoria Police Band, RAAF Band, various choirs from Australia and overseas (Japan, New Zealand, Germany

Membership Fees: $80 p.a. for Club Tivoli members
