DETAILS ABOUT THE CHOIR

Vision statement / Artistic goals: The Soufflé Sisters Community Choir is a choir for women who like to sing; they sing eclectic and uplifting music in a supportive environment

Voice type: ALL FEMALE CHOIR

Choir performs: Both accompanied & unaccompanied

Year Choir formed: 2006

No. of Singing Members - Currently: 20 Desired: 25

Musical Repertoire: Eclectic

Musical Director: Franca Locandro and Gillian Baldwin

No. of years in current post: since 2009

Previous musical experience: Both Franca and Gillian are highly experienced choral conductors who have conducted many choirs in and around Melbourne; Franca holds a Masters of Music Studies in Conducting from the University of Melbourne and directs choirs at some of Melbourne's top private schools, as well as being a tutor for the performing choir of the National Boys Choir of Australia; Gillian has worked for many years at the prestigious Wesley College where she directed the College choir

Choir's past collaborations with other musical groups: Women of Note (Bendigo), Home Brew (Men's Choir, and their "brother" choir)

Audition:No

Minimum Attendance policy - Rehearsals: Yes Concerts: Yes

Membership Fees: Between $80-$100 per term; music costs charged as necessary up to $10 per term; Concession rates for card holders are available

Ability to read music: Not necessary

Sight-reading ability: Not necessary
