A Few More Words ... of encouragement, of explanation, and of thanks
about the choirs listed in this Guide ......
The choirs and vocal ensembles listed in this Guide have been drawn from across metropolitan Melbourne, encompassing an area generally bounded by the Mornington Peninsula, Berwick, Whittlesea, Sunbury and Melton, and now GEELONG as well. Most of these groups have adult members, either exclusively or partially, have 10 or more members, and include in their musical repertoire either classical choral music or music from ethnic groups in Melbourne's diverse multi-cultural community.
*** NEWS FLASHES *** This Guide also lists CHILDREN'S CHOIRS and YOUTH CHOIRS, where certain age limits normally apply to members, and due to popular demand, is also open to listings of choirs based in GEELONG.
The groups listed in this Guide are by no means all the singing groups performing in Melbourne. Other types of choirs and vocal ensembles operating in Melbourne, but generally not listed on this website, are gospel/jazz "a capella" groups, and smaller ensembles of less than 10 voices, all of whom number literally hundreds of groups making marvellous music in Melbourne.
