Vision statement / Artistic goals: To provide beautiful, quality music for the Basilica and its unique liturgical requirements;the Parish Choir sings every Sunday at the 10.30 am Mass and for major feasts and other special occasions

Previous musical experience: John has a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the University of Melbourne and a Diploma LMusA in pianoforte; he is very experienced with liturgical music, choirs and organ; John is a former member of St Patrick’s Cathedral Choir; he has been organist at Deepdene & Balwyn Parish since 2007, and assistant organist at Melbourne Welsh Church since 2019 and of Camberwell Grammar School since 2009; he has fulfilled the role of interim organist and choir director at Sacred Heart Church, Kew on two occasions; in recent years, John has pursued the organ with greater interest and has been working with organist and teacher, John Mallinson
