DETAILS ABOUT THE CHOIR

Vision statement / Artistic goals: No matter what age you are or what language you speak, singing offers opportunities to learn, grow, and express who you are; With One Voice Geelong likes to approach everything with a spirit of fun and humour, referred to once as "that madcap choir"; they have turned their voices to a wide range of styles, from The Sound of Music's "Do-Re-Mi" to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", to the Habanera from Bizet's opera "Carmen"; whether or not you think you can sing, you will be warmly welcomed at With One Voice Geelong and encouraged to join in and discover the voice you never knew you had; no singing experience necessary, everyone welcome

Musical Director: Kym Dillon

No. of years in current post: since 2012

Previous musical experience: Kym Dillon is a young, experienced jazz and contemporary pianist, composer, arranger, orchestrator and conductor, who is currently based in Melbourne and Geelong; in 2007 he won first place in the Peter Martin Memorial Jazz Solo competition as part of the Royal South Street competitions in Ballarat, and in 2008 he was selected to perform solo piano as part of the VCAA’s Top Acts concert held at Hamer Hall; Kym is currently studying composition at the Victorian College of the Arts, and is an aspiring composer of art and film music; in 2010 he became the conductor and accompanist of the community choir With One Voice Geelong, and in 2012 began conducting With One Voice Ashburton
