DETAILS ABOUT THE CHOIR

Vision statement / Artistic goals: To sing and perform a variety of contemporary a cappella music

Musical Repertoire: Mostly original a cappella arrangements of pop songs done by members of the choir; also some multicultural music and Christmas music each year

Musical Director: Daniel Kim

No. of years in current post: since 2021

Previous musical experience: Eclectically trained, Daniel is an avid a cappella aficionado whose vast experience has seen him serve the wider a cappella community as a musical director, an award-winning arranger, audio and video editor, songwriter, and performer; Daniel currently directs, arranges for, and sings with nationally-acclaimed vocal band Vocally Owned, in addition to Harambee A Cappella; Daniel also enjoys performing musical theatre, with recent credits including Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Cactus Musicals), which won an Award of Excellence from the Musical Theatre Guild of Victoria; and Mr Stephens in Carrie: The Musical (Lumina Theatre Co.), which was nominated for Best Production at the Lyrebird Awards; he has also led the clarinet section in multiple orchestras and directed several chamber ensembles

Choir's past collaborations with other musical groups: Gondwana Chorale, Suara, Sunbury Divas, Sons of Sunbury, Birralee Blokes, Concordis, Vox Synergy, Barker College, University of Newcastle Chamber Choir, Shower Idols, Soul Food, Wagga Wagga Rugby Choir, Festival of Voices, and more

Membership Fees: $170 per semester ($140 Conc.)

Ability to read music: Highly desirable

Sight-reading ability: Highly desirable
