DETAILS ABOUT THE CHOIR
Vision statement / Artistic goals: Monash University Singers is the School of Music's largest performance ensemble; it was formed in 1992 and has since held a distinguished place in the School of Music and in the University; the choir consists of music students, students from other Monash University faculties attending for credit or pleasure, volunteer staff members and interested community participants; its repertoire covers a wide range of music eras and traditions, including historical and new Australian compositions; the choir presents concerts throughout the year, and participates in other university and community events; the choir’s goal is to give singers the enriching experience of learning and performing diverse choral works, and to give the singers the opportunity to contribute their voices to a large ensemble

Previous musical experience: Nick is a former boy chorister at St Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne, a former student of Merlyn Quaife AM and The Opera Studio Melbourne; he works as a singer in opera and recital, a conductor, educator, adjudicator and clinician; Nick has worked with both community and professional organisations (notably as Chorusmaster for the Peninsula Summer Music festival, and Assistant Chorusmaster to the Consort of Melbourne/Australian Chamber Orchestra); Nick holds positions on the staff of the Australian Boys Choral Institute and at the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music, Monash University
Choir's past collaborations with other musical groups: In 2009, the choir sang with the Monash Academy Orchestra in the Tosca chorus at the Monash Academy of Music "A Gala Night at the Opera"
